Sunsara Jewellery creates beautiful, empowering pieces, and they’re passionate about environmental and ethical practices. This Melbourne-based brand crafts dreamy jewellery with a conscience, ensuring every step of the process, from sourcing materials to packaging, aligns with their commitment to sustainability.

Founded on respect for earth and a touch of magic

Sarah Potter, the visionary behind Sunsara Jewellery, wasn’t always destined for the world of gems and jewels. A chance encounter with tarot cards sparked a life-altering shift, whispering tales of travel and a connection to precious stones.

This nudge from fate, coupled with her own yearning for a liberated and empowered lifestyle, became the seed from which Sunsara blossomed. Sarah travelled to Bali and did a jewellery course, and the rest is history.

Sarah’s commitment to sustainability is woven into the very fabric of her brand. It’s not just about creating beautiful objects; it’s about creating them with a conscience.

From the recycled card boxes to the ethically sourced stones, every element reflects her deep respect for the planet and a desire to empower others to do the same. Sunsara Jewellery is more than just adornment; it’s a tangible expression of Sarah’s belief in conscious creation and a reminder that we can all add a touch of magic to the world, while leaving it a little brighter in the process.

Sunsara’s sustainability commitments

Sustainable Packaging: Sunsara uses only eco-friendly materials for their packaging. Each piece arrives nestled in an aluminium tin, a reusable and recyclable option that adds a touch of elegance. The jewellery is wrapped in soft tissue paper and enclosed in a recycled card box. This eliminates unnecessary plastic waste, a major concern in the jewellery industry.

Carbon Neutral Shipping: Sunsara understands the environmental impact of transportation. That’s why they’ve partnered with a carbon neutral shipping provider. This means the emissions generated during delivery are offset by investments in renewable energy projects or initiatives that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Ethically Sourced Jewels: The magic of Sunsara jewellery extends beyond its design. They prioritise ethically sourced gemstones and precious metals. This ensures responsible mining practices that minimise environmental damage and avoid exploitation in the supply chain. Sunsara aims for transparency, and while they don’t disclose their specific sourcing partners publicly, their commitment to ethical practices demonstrates their dedication to responsible jewellery making.

Award-Winning Sustainability: Sunsara’s dedication to sustainability hasn’t gone unnoticed. They’ve been recognised for their efforts with the prestigious Organisation Sustainability Award. This award acknowledges companies that demonstrate exceptional leadership in environmental and social responsibility. Additionally, their commitment to ethical design has earned them a remarkable six Product Awards, highlighting the exceptional quality and beauty of their creations.

Embodying beauty and sustainability

Sunsara Jewellery represents a new wave in the jewellery industry, showing that creating beautifully packaged stunning pieces doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment or ethical practices. With their commitment to sustainable packaging, carbon-neutral shipping, and ethically sourced materials, Sunsara lets customers radiate confidence and inner magic while making a positive impact on the world. I especially love Sunsara’s unique little aluminium boxes which are super handy to keep and re-use, and if / when they are disposed of, aluminium is infinitely recyclable. All their other packaging is paper and cardboard with no plastic. Sunsara’s sparkle goes below the surface!

Delightful planet-friendly packaging

We are delighted to have our sustainability efforts highlighted. I love our little silver pressed tin boxes, thereโ€™s something that feels like magic or treasure to me and not only are they recyclable they are hand made by a beautiful family in Ubud. I used to compare myself to other brands and wondered oh should I be doing these fancy printed boxes – but realised the printed ones would use a lot of materials + resources and most likely are unable to be recycled and quickly end up in the bin. Our little aluminium boxes are 100% recyclable but the best part is they are the perfect little jewellery box for keeping all your jewels or small items in. They are also great for regifting to friends or family, especially for kids who love them. To me thereโ€™s something that feels extra special about them and I hope customers feel the same. I always feel like our little Sunsara boxes will have many lives and uses beyond receiving our jewels in it ๐Ÿค
